Barhaugh Hall Activity Centre, near Alston, Cumbria is looking for a Support Assistant to work Wednesdays (7 am till 3 pm) during term time only. Pay £13.20 per hour (rising to £13.85 in May), paid all year round through annualised hours. 7hpw week contract.

This role involves:

  • Assisting with the morning supervision of children.
  • Reminding children of routines and liaising with other staff, recording information where appropriate.
  • Providing support for groups of children between sessions, which may include helping with harnesses and helmet fitting, provision of waterproofs and other equipment, or other supervisory tasks.
  • Providing support on sessions by fulfilling roles such as bottom of Zip Wire or lake cover.

Full training is provided. Some previous work with children is useful, as well as excellent customer care skills and the ability to be positive, professional and supportive of others at all times. We take safeguarding very seriously and the successful applicants will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.
