The Manners in Bakewell is set to become the newest addition to the Robinsons managed estate following an extensive refurbishment and investment programme that will transform this historic venue into one of the area\'s premier hospitality destinations.
Located in the heart of the Peak District\'s most visited market town, The Manners will combine a vibrant pub and dining experience with 88 internal covers, 58 external covers, and eight beautifully refurbished letting bedrooms, creating a true destination venue for both locals and visitors alike.
We\'re looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead this exciting new chapter. Someone who can build a great team, establish The Manners as a must-visit destination, and become a visible figure within the local community.

About You
\'You\'re an experienced hospitality leader who thrives on creating memorable guest experiences whilst delivering outstanding commercial results.
Most importantly, you\'ll understand Bakewell, the Peak District and the local hospitality market. You\'ll know what attracts visitors to the area, how to engage with the local community, and how to position The Manners as a destination venue for both tourists and residents alike.
You\'ll bring:
- Proven experience as a General Manager within a quality food-led hospitality business
- Strong experience managing accommodation-led operations
- Excellent commercial and financial acumen
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Experience opening, relaunching or developing hospitality businesses
- Strong knowledge of Bakewell, the Peak District and the surrounding visitor economy
- The ability to build relationships within the local community and tourism network
- Outstanding leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams
The Role
As General Manager, you\'ll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of The Manners from day one.
Leading from the front, you\'ll be responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience, building a strong local reputation, and maximising the potential of this significant investment.
Working closely with the Robinsons support teams, you\'ll have the autonomy to run the business as if it were your own while benefiting from the backing of one of the UK\'s most respected family brewers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the launch and ongoing success of The Manners following its refurbishment
- Driving revenue and profitability across a high-volume pub and dining operation, outdoor trading space and eight letting bedrooms.
- Building, coaching and inspiring a high-performing team
- Creating a welcoming environment for both locals and visitors
- Establishing strong links within the Bakewell and Peak District community
- Delivering outstanding food, drink and accommodation standards
- Achieving ambitious financial and operational targets
- Growing The Manners into one of the region\'s leading hospitality destinations
