My client is a well-established and highly respected mechanical contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering excellence in the building services industry. Known for their collaborative approach and technical expertise, they specialise in large-scale commercial projects across the UK.
I am seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team and play a key role in the design and delivery of complex mechanical building services systems. You will be involved in projects from initial concept through to completion, working closely with internal teams, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure the highest standards of engineering design and coordination.
Key Responsibilities - Mechanical Design Engineer- Lead the mechanical design process on major commercial projects
- Produce detailed design calculations, technical specifications, and drawings
- Coordinate designs with other disciplines, consultants, and subcontractors
- Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site visits as required
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and sustainability goals
- Support and mentor junior engineers within the design team
- Assist with value engineering, project planning, and cost control
- Liaise with project delivery teams to ensure successful implementation
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical design within the building services industry
- Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
- Competitive salary: £55,000 - £65,000
