The Opportunity
A well-established and highly regarded building services contractor is looking to appoint a Mechanical Site Manager to oversee the mechanical installation on a large, multi-room residential development in Reading.
This is a long-term site-based role on a high-quality residential scheme, offering stability and the chance to work for a contractor known for delivering complex MEP projects across the UK.
The Role
As Mechanical Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the mechanical installation on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing mechanical works across a multi-room residential project
- Supervising subcontractors and direct labour
- Coordinating plant rooms, risers, and apartment installations
- Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications, and RAMS
- Maintaining high health & safety standards on site
- Working closely with the Project Manager, M&E teams, and main contractor
- Managing quality control, inspections, snagging, and handover
- Tracking progress and reporting against programme
About You
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager within the residential / multi-room sector (essential)
- Strong background in building services mechanical installation
- Experience on large, multi-room residential developments (apartments / high-rise / mixed-use)
- Confident managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts
- Strong site leadership and communication skills
- SMSTS and relevant mechanical qualifications
Package
- Salary of £50,000 - £60,000, depending on experience
