My client is a growing HVAC company based in Nottingham. They are seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Contracts Manager with extensive air conditioning experience to lead the air conditioning division into a new era of success. Projects span across the Midlands and the UK, covering commercial, retail, industrial, and high-end residential sectors.
About the Role
As Contracts Manager, you’ll be the key driver of operations, growth, and performance within the business. You’ll bring a wealth of knowledge in commercial air conditioning, including Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs), and take full ownership of project delivery, from tender to handover. With the support of their sister companies and internal resources, your goal is to develop a thriving, reputable, and profitable HVAC operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage air conditioning and HVAC contracts from inception to completion
- Lead tendering, quoting, and contract negotiation processes
- Supervise installation teams and subcontractors to ensure project delivery, quality, and safety
- Oversee delivery of ASHP, VRF/VRV, split systems and associated mechanical services
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers throughout the contract lifecycle
- Plan workloads, forecast resources, and manage budgets
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (F-Gas, REFCOM, etc.)
- Drive operational improvements and support business development
- Build and mentor a growing team of engineers and project staff
- Coordinate closely with sister companies for cross-functional project delivery
What They\’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or Mechanical Project Manager with extensive experience in commercial HVAC or air conditioning
- Strong knowledge of Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) and a range of air conditioning systems
- Excellent client-facing, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Commercial acumen and leadership ability
- Driven, accountable, and excited to shape the future of a growing business
Qualifications & Certifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (preferred)
- F-Gas certification (preferred)
- IOSH / SMSTS or similar H&S qualifications (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
