Your new role:
Ready to head into the world of work? A Traineeship could be your ideal start to the next phase of your career. You’ll learn about the job, on the job, whilst we support you through further studies, so you’ll gain qualifications as well as work experience and skills. As a Trainee Planner you will be responsible for:
- Delivering construction programmes for internal and external use
- Producing critical path analysis for projects as required
- Assisting project managers with production of detailed programmes
- Producing labour and other resource loaded programmes, updating and producing reports to create overall projected resource requirements on an area basis, including cash flows
- Producing progress reports, pre-tender programmes, and tender site investigation reports
- Producing technical information for company pre-qualification presentations
- Attending presentations when required
- Training and coaching the on-site management in planning techniques
- Developing planning software use to meet the needs of the Company
- Liaising with estimating and productivity to ensure that correct outputs are being utilised and that the best advantage is taken from the various software packages
What you'll need:
- HNC/HND/BSc (Hons) (or currently working towards or prepared to)
- National 5 or GCSE equivalent
- Complimentary relevant experience
- Ability to work under pressure
- Methodical approach
- Numerate
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate
- Willingness to learn
As a Trainee Planner, we understand this may be one of your first roles, so we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in the construction industry. Experience within this sector would be great; however, if you can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach with excellent written and verbal communications skills, this could be the role for you. We will support you through your Traineeship to develop and progress in your chosen career path.
