Working hours: 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The shift pattern for this post requires the post holder to be flexible in order to accommodate the requirements of the school.

Your new role

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Operational & Reactive Maintenance
      • Act as first point of contact for site breakdowns and reactive issues.
      • Undertake initial fault diagnosis and make-safe actions where required.
      • Resolve minor repairs where within capability and safe to do so.
      • Escalate faults via RFM / Helpdesk for onward instruction to specialist contractors where additional technical support is required, providing clear fault descriptions and evidence.
      • Provide regular feedback to RFM engineers on site issues and asset performance.
    • Planned Preventative Maintenance & Compliance
      • Support delivery of PPM tasks in line with contract and statutory requirements.
      • Offer guidance to caretakers on how to deliver their assigned PPM and routine maintenance tasks.
      • Assist with site access, isolations and supervision for statutory inspections and servicing.
      • Carry out routine site checks of plant rooms and key assets and report defects.
      • Maintain local records for compliance activities where required.
    • Working with Caretaking Team
      • Work closely with the school’s caretaking staff, providing technical guidance and support.
      • Support caretakers with fault-finding and make-safe actions where required.
      • Promote consistent standards of safety, housekeeping and workmanship across site.
    • Health, Safety & Environment
      • Ensure site operates in compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Robertson procedures.
      • Report accidents, incidents and near misses.
      • Assist with risk assessments and safe systems of work relating to site activities.
      • Ensure site is kept safe, secure and presentable.
    • Contractor & Stakeholder Interface
      • Accompany and supervise contractors on site where required.
      • Monitor quality of works and report any issues to RFM.
      • Build positive working relationships with school staff and RFM teams.
    • General
      • Maintain basic site inventory and stock control.
      • Support minor fabric repairs and small works where competent.
      • Participate in meetings relating to site performance where required.
