Maintenance Engineer – Plumber

Location: Anderson High School, Lerwick, Shetland

Hours of work: 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm Contract: Permanent – Full Time

What you’ll do:

  • As an Maintenance Engineer – Plumber, you’ll be responsible for:
  • To undertake planned, responsive and cyclical maintenance work under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
  • To undertake maintenance duties in such a manner as to support the objectives of the client and with respect for the dignity and privacy of the resident group.
  • To ensure the safe operation of all plant, equipment, and tools
  • To always operate with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety
  • Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM.
  • Full compliance of handheld technology (PDA & Tablet) using RFM’s management system FSI Go
  • To take part in an On-Call rota providing 24hr, 365-day cover to the Facilities
  • To carry out winter gritting and snow clearing duties as necessary as part of the RFM team.
  • To report all accidents and incidents as per RFM’s Health and Safety Policy
  • The post holder will be required to maintain an awareness of RFM\’s policies, procedures and objectives related to the successful delivery of the maintenance service.
  • To provide support and assistance to other RFM personnel on site in the delivery of contracted services.
  • To maintain asset histories, maintenance records and helpdesk reports, informing the RFM Contracts Manager or sub-contractors of any follow up action that may be required.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in Commercial boilers and affiliated plant
  • CCN1 CENWAT CPA1 HTR1
  • Experience of working within Critical Environments with a working knowledge of the Clean Room Validation Process.
  • Managing both Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Building Management Control Systems (BMS)
  • Good IT skills and fluency with a range of PC packages
  • 2-year minimum experience in installation and servicing A/C, HVAC & Chilled Water Systems and associated plant. Minimum: City & Guilds 2079 F Gas & ODS Regulations.
  • IPAF / PASMA certified.
  • Experience in Managing Permit to Work Systems i.e. Working at Height use of high level and powered access equipment, as well as the use of portable and fixed ladders.

The successful candidate will require a DBS/Disclosure Check
