Your new role

As Hard Services Manager, you will oversee and manage the maintenance, repair, small works, and compliance function for our public sector client. The Hard FM service consists of delivery of a planned and reactive maintenance service in accordance with key performance indicators and quality standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the delivery of maintenance activity including reactive, planned, and small works throughout the assigned geographical region across multiple diverse client sites.
  • Ensuring delivery of a safe, customer-focused, cost-effective, efficient, and compliant service to meet contractual and legal obligations.
  • Carrying out asset verification across the estate.
  • Planning PPM work for the maintenance team and sub-contractors using the FM CAFM system, and updating the system diary to reflect any changes in PPM dates.
  • Liaising closely with the client to ensure that all works delivered are to the required standard, with no disruptions to the school day.
  • Ensuring optimum delivery of responsive and cyclical maintenance work is carried out on time and efficiently to meet defined performance expectations.
  • Working hands-on with the maintenance team to review plant faults and implement appropriate resolutions.
  • Acting as Authorised Person Low Voltage for the contract, ensuring permits are issued in relation to complex systems.
  • Acting as the engineering lead on the contract, ensuring compliance with Gas Safe, Biomass, etc.
  • Liaising with specialist sub-contractors to ensure their service is delivered on time, to the required quality and cost.

About you

You’ll have previous experience of leading a multi-disciplined maintenance team in the provision of Facilities Management services and customer liaison. You’ll be able to demonstrate your awareness of statutory requirements for compliance and balance the needs of quality and profit on the contract. Previous experience using CAFM and BMS systems is essential. A valid UK Driving licence is required due to the multi-site nature of this position.
