About the role

Ready to head into the world of work? A Graduate Apprenticeship could be your ideal start to the next phase of your career. You’ll learn about the job, on the job, whilst we support you through further studies, so you’ll gain qualifications as well as work experience and skills. As a Graduate Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing bills of quantities and schedules of works for pricing.
  • Preparing and sending out of Sub-contract enquiries.
  • Subcontract comparison and preparation of subcontract agreements.
  • Attending, contributing to, and taking minutes of meetings as required.
  • Preparing Valuations with Clients, agreeing amounts for payment and ensuring invoices are prepared and issued.
  • Re-measuring work using site measurement and measurement from drawings.
  • Re-measurement of subcontract applications and processing subcontract payments.
  • Informing Sub-Contractors of Contract variations.

What you'll need:

  • 4 Highers (B)/A Levels/Btec or HNC/HND equivalent in relevant subject.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.
  • Dedication and ambition to develop within the role.
  • Computer literate and numerate.

As a Graduate Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, we understand this may be one of your first roles, so we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in the construction industry. Some level of experience would be great, but if you can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and show a methodical approach with excellent written and verbal communication skills, this could be the role for you.
