About the role
Ready to head into the world of work? A Traineeship could be your ideal start to the next phase of your career. You’ll learn about the job, on the job, whilst we support you through further studies, so you’ll gain qualifications as well as work experience and skills.
As a Trainee Design Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Be familiar with company policies and procedures and act appropriately to a working office environment.
- Be technically competent with the joist details & software.
- Completing drawings, specification and any other documentation to the required standards within previously agreed timescales.
- Ensuring all drawings and specifications are checked for accuracy and approved before issue.
- Liaise directly with the Client (as requested by the Contracts Manager for supply and erect), noting all relevant conversations and acting on/passing this information to the relevant person/file within the Company.
- Ensure all written and computer work/input is completed accurately and within required timescales and that records are maintained.
- Produce reports as required by the Design Office Manager/Senior Joist Designer accurately and within relevant timescales.
- Attend meetings timeously as and when required given suitable notice.
- Report any job-related problems/issues to the Design Office Manager/Senior Joist Designer.
- Identify any relevant training needs to the Senior Joist Designer.
- Complete training set by Senior Joist Designer.
About you
As a Trainee Design Technician we understand this may be one of your first roles so we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in Timber Engineering. Experience within this sector would be great however if you can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach with excellent written and verbal communications skills this could be the role for you. We will support you through your Traineeship to develop and progress in your chosen career path.
