Your new role:

The role is to deliver an efficient design service that enables effective fabrication and construction of timber structural frames. You will ensure that all working processes and practices are undertaken safely, efficiently, and profitably in accordance with the company’s management systems and procedures. The role is fully accountable for the delivery of a competent and efficient design service, ensuring effective performance for the business from the following areas:

  • Agreeing design programmes with the design manager and delivering against these
  • Managing the production of fabrication and construction drawings and schedules
  • Reporting into the design manager with weekly updates on projects and progress
  • Working to an agreed programme

Duties:

The Design Technician will be responsible for their own projects and communication with other team members, demonstrating the values and culture of the company. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, building standards, and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Completing drawings, specifications, and any other documentation to the required standards within previously agreed timescales.
  • Using current software packages including AutoCAD and Consultec software.
  • Being prepared to develop software skills through further training as required.
  • Working on a broad variety of projects from small housing to medium-sized commercial projects.
  • Ensuring all drawings and specifications are checked for accuracy and approved before issue.
  • Liaising directly with the Client as requested by the Design Manager or when necessary, noting all relevant conversations and passing this information to the relevant person/file within the Company.
