Ready to head into the world of work? An Apprenticeship could be your ideal start to the next phase of your career. You’ll learn about the job, on the job, whilst we support you through further studies, so you’ll gain qualifications as well as work experience and skills.
As an Apprentice Joiner you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring any issues/problems raised at college or on site are reported to your appointed mentor.
- The safe operation of all plant, equipment and tools and ensuring all apprenticeship log books and other relevant documents are completed on time and to the highest standards.
- Attending college as and when required to successfully fulfil the curriculum of an apprenticeship within the allotted time scale.
- Working with tradesmen in an effective, safe and helpful manner and undertaking tasks as directed by relevant tradesmen.
- Co-operating with colleagues, Supervisors and Management and identifying any relevant training needs to the Operations/Site Manager.
- Completing paperwork on tasks completed and a weekly timesheet.
- Operating always with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal etc. in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of Robertson Construction.
- Reporting all accidents and incidents as appropriate and providing support and assistance to other Robertson personnel on site in the delivery of contracted services.
What you’ll need:
- Nat 5/Nat 4/GCSE in Maths and English (4-9).
- The ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.
- Dedication and ambition to develop within the role.
- Computer literate and numerate.
Who we’re looking for:
As an Apprentice Joiner, we understand this may be one of your first roles, so we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in the construction industry. Some level of experience would be great, but if you can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and show a methodical approach with excellent written and verbal communication skills, this could be the role for you. You’ll also need to demonstrate your dedication and ambition to develop within the role, which we can support you.
