Your new role: Ready to head into the world of work? An Apprenticeship could be your ideal start to the next phase of your career. You’ll learn about the job, on the job, whilst we support you through further studies, so you’ll gain qualifications as well as work experience and skills.
As an Apprentice Bricklayer, you will be responsible for:
- Attending college as and when required to successfully fulfil the curriculum of an apprenticeship within the allotted time scale.
- Ensuring all apprenticeship log books and other relevant documents are completed on time and to the highest standards.
- Reporting any issues/problems raised at college or on site to your appointed mentor.
- Working with tradesmen in an effective, safe, and helpful manner.
- Undertaking tasks as directed by relevant tradespeople.
- Co-operating with colleagues, Supervisors, and Management.
- Identifying any relevant training needs to the Operations/Site Manager.
- Completing paperwork on tasks completed and a weekly timesheet.
- Ensuring the safe operation of all plant, equipment, and tools.
- Operating always with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal etc., in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of Robertson Construction.
- Reporting all accidents and incidents as appropriate.
- Providing support and assistance to other Robertson personnel on site in the delivery of contracted services.
- Maintaining an awareness of Robertson policies, procedures, and objectives related to the successful delivery of the maintenance service.
Who we’re looking for: As an Apprentice, we understand this may be one of your first roles, so we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in Bricklaying. Some level of experience would be great, but if you can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative and show a methodical approach with excellent written and verbal communication skills, this could be the role for you. You’ll also need to demonstrate your dedication and ambition to develop with the role, which we can support you.
