Our client is a highly respected independent investment banking boutique with an established presence across the financial institutions sector. Due to continued growth and a strong transaction pipeline, the firm is seeking to appoint an experienced Vice President to join its London team. This represents an outstanding opportunity for a driven investment banking professional to take on a leadership role within a growing platform, working closely with Managing Directors on the origination and execution of complex strategic advisory and M&A mandates across the FIG landscape.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in both transaction execution and client development, with significant responsibility for managing deal teams, leading client interactions, and supporting business generation initiatives. The role offers exposure to a broad range of clients, including banks, insurers, asset managers, fintechs, specialty finance businesses, and other financial services institutions across the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the execution of M&A, strategic advisory, capital raising, and restructuring mandates
  • Managing transaction workstreams and overseeing Analysts and Associates throughout the deal process
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, investors, and industry stakeholders
  • Preparing and presenting strategic recommendations to senior client management teams and boards
  • Reviewing and directing complex financial modelling, valuation, and analytical work
  • Supporting Managing Directors in business development and origination activities
  • Identifying new opportunities and contributing to the continued growth of the FIG franchise
  • Acting as a mentor to junior team members and supporting talent development initiatives
Candidate Requirements
  • 6–10 years of investment banking experience, with significant FIG sector exposure
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and executing M&A and advisory transactions
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and transaction execution capabilities
  • Experience managing junior bankers and coordinating multiple deal workstreams
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to contribute to client relationship development and origination
