Our client are looking for a motivated and customer-focused 1st Line Engineer to join their Service Desk team in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, providing technical support to customers.
As a key member of the Service Desk, you will act as the first point of contact for IT support requests and incidents, ensuring they are handled professionally, efficiently, and in line with service expectations. You will work closely with our workshop, field, 2nd line, and 3rd line teams to ensure issues are resolved quickly and customer satisfaction remains high.
Key Responsibilities- Answer incoming Service Desk calls in a professional and timely manner
- Log all Service Requests and Incidents within the ITSM tool
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues remotely
- Escalate incidents and service requests when required
- Keep customers updated on progress and resolution times
- Monitor customer IT systems using monitoring software
- Maintain accurate job sheets and time recording
- Act as a liaison between customers, escalation teams, and third-party vendors
- Support the Managed Service Operations Centre
- Participate in agreed ad-hoc projects, including site visits and customer meetings
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills
- Create and maintain documentation and procedures
- Support training and knowledge sharing within the team
- Follow company, departmental, and customer policies and procedures
- Attend team meetings and complete required administrative tasks
