Robertson Recruitment are working with a manufacturing client based in Newark as they look for a hands-on workshop manager to oversee the daily operations. This includes managing staff, ensuring efficient workflow and maintaining health and safety standards.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 08:00am - 16:00.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee workshop operations
  • Manage a team of machine operators and drivers
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard
  • Maintain inventory levels
  • Monitor compliance and health and safety
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and staffing hours
  • Resolve technical issues or escalate the more complex issues

Essential skills:

  • Experience working in a workshop in and around machinery such as saws and lasers
  • Understanding of machine maintenance
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledgeable in workshop management software or Microsoft Office tools
  • At least 3 years experience in a workshop management role
