Robertson Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturing business in Burton upon Trent to recruit a Maintenance Fitter to join their maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment. Alongside carrying out maintenance activities, you will occasionally support production by assisting with machine operation when required.

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment and plant machinery to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. You will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance while working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing equipment.
  • Respond to mechanical breakdowns and carry out effective repairs.
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately.

Previous experience in a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Plant Fitter or similar role is required. Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills are essential, along with experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment. A hands-on approach with the flexibility to support machine operation when required is necessary, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a shift team. Mechanical engineering qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential for candidates with strong practical experience.
