Robertson recruitment are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join a sheet metal fabrication company. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating a press brake machine to bend, shape, and form metal components according to precise specifications.
Working hours: Rotational shifts. 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm OR Afternoon shifts. 2pm - 10pm
Responsibilities:
- Operate press brake machines to bend and form metal sheets and components based on blueprints and technical drawings
- Set up and adjust machine controls for speed, material thickness, bend angle, and tooling
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules
- Inspect parts for accuracy using measuring tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the press brake and tooling
- Monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and meet production deadlines
- Follow company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills required:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong understanding of metal types, thicknesses, and forming characteristics
- Familiarity with Amada, Cincinnati, Trumpf, or similar press brake brands is a plus
- Proficient in using measurement tools to ensure precision
- Basic math and mechanical skills
