Robertson Recruitment are looking for a proactive and hands-on Senior Operative to join our growing production team. As a Lead Operative, you'll play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll also support the wider team with training, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 05:00-13:30. Overtime available.

As Lead Operative, your responsibilities will include:

  • Production & Warehouse Operations
    • Operating and overseeing production machinery to achieve output and efficiency targets
    • Managing the day-to-day operation of jar filling and bulk filling lines
    • Receiving, inspecting, and storing raw materials
    • Loading and unloading finished goods and raw materials
    • Completing Goods In checks, including quality, quantity, and vehicle inspections
    • Ensuring finished products are stored and dispatched safely and efficiently
  • Leadership & Team Support
    • Providing day-to-day support and guidance to production operatives
    • Training and developing team members
    • Supporting production flow and operational efficiency
    • Deputising for the Team Leader during periods of absence (with additional payment)
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Completing production, warehouse, and quality records accurately
    • Recording yields, performance data, and operational information
    • Ensuring all compliance documentation is completed correctly and on time

What We're Looking For

  • Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environment
  • Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
  • Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to lead by example and support colleagues

Desirable

  • Knowledge of GMP and food safety standards
  • Experience training or mentoring team members
  • Previous experience operating production machinery
