Programming experience is essential to be successful for this role; it will be part of the interview. Robertson Recruitment are working on behalf of our well-established client, who are rapidly growing due to much success. We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller & Programmer. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of precision-engineered components using modern CNC machinery in a clean, well-equipped manufacturing environment.

The Role:

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision-engineered components safely, efficiently and accurately. Programming experience is essential for this role.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Create, edit and optimise CNC milling programmes using CAD/CAM software and machine controls
  • Produce first-off components to engineering drawing specifications
  • Modify and improve existing programmes to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency
  • Maintain programme documentation and backups
  • Set and operate CNC milling machines
  • Select appropriate tooling and fixtures
  • Manufacture one-off and batch components to tight tolerances
  • Carry out tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments
  • Inspect components using precision measuring equipment, including verniers, micrometers, bore gauges and height gauges
  • Complete first-off inspections
  • Identify and report any non-conformances promptly

Essential Experience Needed:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller
  • Programming experience is essential
  • Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude

Desirable Experience:

  • CAD/CAM programming experience
  • Experience with Hurco, Haas, Mazak or Fanuc controls
  • Experience operating Haas and Matsuura machinery
  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification

Working Hours:

  • 39 hours per week Monday to Friday
  • Flexible working hours; start as early as 6:00am
  • Complete your 39 hours across five working days to suit your preferred schedule
