The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join our manufacturing team, producing high-precision components in a modern engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality machining, enjoys solving problems and wants to develop their technical skills within a supportive and forward-thinking business. You will be responsible for setting, operating and improving CNC turning processes, working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications to produce components to exacting standards.
The Role:
- Setting up and operating CNC turning machines
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances
- Using CAD files and software to support programme development and adjustments
- Carrying out machining operations including turning, grinding, milling and finishing processes
- Selecting and setting appropriate tooling to achieve accurate results
- Performing routine machine checks, maintenance and inspections
- Using hand tools and measuring equipment to ensure components meet required standards
- Supporting assembly activities and working with metal and plastic components
- Troubleshooting machining and mechanical issues using practical engineering knowledge
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience operating and setting CNC turning machines
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working with CAD software (SolidWorks would be advantageous)
- Knowledge of machining processes, tooling and measurement techniques
- Experience with grinding, milling or welding would be beneficial
- Strong mechanical understanding and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider engineering team
