Overview

Location: West Hartford Community Fire Station and HQ, West Hartford Business park, Cramlington, Northumberland, NE23 3JP

Contract: Full time, permanent. Hours: 40 hours per week. Core hours Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5pm, plus on-call shift on rota basis (additional payment applicable).

Your new role

  • To ensure that the Facilities are maintained to the levels specified in the Performance Standards of the Project Agreement between RFM and Angus Council.
  • Service and repair of lighting and power distribution systems.
  • Service and repair of motors and pumps.
  • Service and repair of fan coil units and associated systems.
  • Service and repair to HVAC control panels.
  • Service and repair of fire alarm systems.
  • Competent on BMS control systems.
  • Competent PAT tester.
  • To undertake maintenance duties in such a manner as to support the objectives of the client and with respect for the dignity and privacy of the resident group.
  • To operate at all times with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal.
  • To maintain asset histories, maintenance records and helpdesk reports, informing the administrator or tradesmen of any follow up action that may be required.
  • To take part in an On-Call rota providing 24hr, 365 day cover to the Facilities.
  • To provide support and assistance to other RFM personnel on site in the delivery of contracted services.

About you:

  • Qualified tradesman/extensive experience of property maintenance gained in either the Public or Private sector.
  • SQA Certificate in electrical installation parts one and two (or approved equivalent, including 18th regulations).
  • Experience in electrical power distribution systems/ lighting systems.
  • Experience in HVAC control systems.
  • Electrical Testing/Desirable.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence required.

The successful candidate will require a Basic DBS Check before starting in the job.

Who we’re looking for:

The post holder will work on their own, alongside Client Representatives, with responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive, high quality property maintenance service to all facilities on site. They will form part of the wider In‑house Maintenance Team with a designated core skill and will be expected to lead in this area, but will also be expected to undertake any property maintenance work within the post holder’s range of competence.
