Role Overview
As Mobile Water Services Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality water services and ensuring legionella compliance across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Carry out Water Services/Legionella Compliance works as instructed by the Water Services Manager in an effective and efficient manner.
- Ensure Water Services/Legionella Compliance PPM/remedial works are delivered in a timely fashion in line with the agreed PPM planner.
- Carry out temperature testing of water outlets, inspection of cold‑water storage tanks and hot‑water storage vessels, water sample collection and showerhead disinfection, and associated remedial works such as tank disinfections, tank relining, TMV maintenance, minor plumbing works and any other related works as required.
- Assist in the pricing and delivery of works/small works/new tenders relating to Water Services.
- Provide technical input on project schemes/special projects as required by business needs.
- Undertake monitoring of building Water Services as part of a Legionella Control Program in accordance with HSC ACoP L8/HSG274 Part 2 & 3 & HTM(s) 04-01 Regs.
- Accurately complete site Legionella Log Books where required.
- Practice effective risk management, establishing controls, procedures, health and safety systems, audits etc which ensure services are compliant with legislation and contingency plans are in place.
- Operate at all times with safe working practices with due regard to Health & Safety Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection and Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM.
- Support other engineers in the delivery of Water Services.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently in a multi‑site capacity.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in hot & cold‑water systems (C&G).
- Legionella L8 awareness & system monitoring requirements (C&G).
- Experience in installation and maintenance of Thermostatic Mixing Valves.
- Basic plumbing skills.
- Confined Spaces experience (training will be given where required).
- Strong working knowledge of legislation and guidance material (HSC ACoP L8/HSG274 Part 1,2 & 3, HTM(s) 04-01 Regs and Water Regulations).
- Previous experience in a Water Hygiene Engineering role.
- Ability to plan and organise workloads to meet unpredictable deadlines and handle conflicting demands.
- Postholder must hold a full current driving licence and be willing to travel. Flexibility in working away from home when required.
- Exposure to planning and delivering effective Water Services maintenance systems.
