People Partner

Location: Stirling/Hybrid

Willingness and flexibility to travel to meet with stakeholders where required (Elgin, Aberdeen, Dundee, Central Belt areas).

You will partner with key stakeholders within the Robertson Construction Group business in order to lead in the delivery of effective end-to-end HR services. You will be a key enabler to the Robertson Construction Group and subsidiary businesses, ensuring the effective delivery of proactive, business-focused HR support and advice.

Your new role

The fundamental tasks of the job are:

  • Work in partnerships and build effective relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a robust end-to-end HR service and support the execution of the Robertson People Strategy in alignment with the People & Culture team.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the regional HR team to provide comprehensive and exemplary support in employee relations, recruitment, and administrative matters.
  • Lead in the delivery of People Plans across the region, collaborating with the wider HR specialisms and People & Culture team to support their execution.
  • Ensure regular presence in regional locations.
  • Proactively identify and address key business-related HR issues through reporting and liaison with the regional businesses, and develop strong, collaborative relationships with the People & Culture team to suggest Group-wide solutions or interventions.
  • Influence senior stakeholders within designated business regions, developing close professional relationships to support their region in achieving positive HR solutions.
  • Support the People Leaders in understanding and implementing policies and procedures in line with best practice in people management.
  • Coach, advise (and in some instances educate) our People Leaders on the full spectrum of people-related/employee relations matters.
  • Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of each business region and how they operate to provide HR guidance.
  • Oversight of all employee relations activity in designated regions, ensuring that senior stakeholders, People Leaders, and HR Advisors are aligned and have a clear sense of direction and ownership.
  • Support HR Advisors with managing sensitive and confidential issues such as attendance review meetings, performance management, grievance, disciplinary, restructures, and redundancies, in accordance with both policies and procedures and best practice.
  • Be the main escalation point for HR Advisors on complex employee relations cases, ensuring partnership with the regional business to mitigate risk.
  • Manage any preparations required for tribunal cases.
  • Work collaboratively with the People & Culture team to lead training sessions in the region.
  • Deputise for the Head of People Partnering and represent the HR department at relevant business meetings, acting as an advocate for HR best practice and instilling the key principles of the Robertson People Strategy.
  • Capitalize on people data and insights to produce regular reports on topics such as employee engagement, sickness absence, turnover, analysing trends and highlighting improvement opportunities to business stakeholders and the People & Culture team.
  • Lead the wider HR Team with TUPE programmes, including preparation, consultation, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation at bid stage and throughout the process. Work with trade unions and contract partners as appropriate at all stages of the process.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports for business leaders across the Group, ensuring these meet the requirements of the business and are reviewed regularly.
  • Lead the team to ensure effective management of all administrative tasks within the region, and projects such as salary review and bonus.

Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need previous experience in an HR advisory role with a track record in Employee Relations.

You’ll have the ability to write reports and proposals, analyse data, and establish trends and recommendations.

You’ll have a degree or equivalent, be a Chartered or Graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or relevant qualification, or willing to work towards it.

You’ll also be commercially aware, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be great at planning and prioritizing, and have the ability to cope under pressure.

You should also have a Full UK driving license, with a willingness and flexibility to travel to meet with stakeholders where required (Elgin, Aberdeen, Dundee, Central Belt areas).
