Location: University Hospital North Durham (UHND)

Contract: Permanent, full time

Hours: Monday to Friday 38.75 hours per week, between the hours of 8am to 5pm (earlies or lates)

Your new role

As a Maintenance Assistant with Robertson Facilities Management, you will work daily as part of a small site-based FM team and alongside client representatives, with responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive, high quality property maintenance service across the relevant client sites.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • To ensure that the Facilities are maintained to the levels specified in the Performance Standards of the Project Agreement / Contract.
  • To undertake planned, responsive, and cyclical maintenance work as per the agreed programme.
  • To undertake maintenance duties in such a manner as to support the healthcare objectives of the client and with respect for the dignity and privacy of the hospital service users and staff.
  • To ensure the safe operation of all plant, equipment, and tools.
  • To always operate with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM.
  • To maintain asset histories, maintenance records and helpdesk reports, informing the RFM Lead Engineer and Facilities Manager or sub-contractors of any follow up action that may be required.
  • To report all accidents and incidents as appropriate.
  • The post holder will be required to maintain an awareness of RFM's policies, procedures and objectives related to the successful delivery of the maintenance service.
  • The successful applicant may be required to submit to Basic DBS background screening before starting in the job.
