The post holder will work as part of a flexible team with continuing responsibility. The post holder will be expected to undertake/assist any work as required by the Project Engineer and in accordance with Robertson health and safety guidance.
Responsibilities
- Completion of site QA documentation and verification process to allow completion of Inspection certificate.
- Completion of As Fitted drawings on site.
- Ordering most cost effective day to day materials.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical works, including new installations, upgrades, or repairs.
- Supervise sub-contract trades and a direct team of pipefitters/plumbers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring work is carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to ensure proper installation and adherence to project requirements.
- Coordinate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and collaboration.
- Conduct site inspections to assess mechanical needs, identify potential risks, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to pipefitters/plumbers on complex mechanical systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring quality workmanship.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards or non-compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
- Checking test sheets coming from site have their relevant and correct details.
- Supervise/carry out all mechanical isolations.
- Follow all Robertson procedures (RMS).
- Monitor all mechanical sub-contracts for safety and quality.
- Completion of Mechanical RAMs and verification of sub-contractors.
- Carry out weekly toolbox talks.
- Carry out daily briefings.
- Carry out any permits to work required for the daily/weekly task.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified to relevant level 3 mechanical certification
- First Aid
- SSSTS
