As a Maintenance Engineer – Gas, you’ll contribute to our impactful work for clients, partners, and a sustainable future.
Your new role
What you\’ll do:
- Undertake planned, reactive, and cyclical maintenance independently or under supervision.
- Support client objectives while respecting residents’ dignity and privacy.
- Ensure safe operation of all plant, equipment, and tools.
- Operate with safe working practices according to Health and Safety regulations, COSHH, Infection Control, Waste Disposal, etc.
- Maintain asset histories and maintenance records, complete tasks within contractual timelines, and report follow-up actions.
- Use handheld technology (PDA & tablet) with RFM’s management system FSI Go.
- Participate in an on-call rota providing 24/7 cover.
- Report accidents and incidents per RFM’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Assist other RFM personnel and support operational requirements, particularly with pumps, motors, and fire dampers.
What you\’ll need:
- Time-served Commercial Gas Engineer with installation and maintenance experience.
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Gas Safe registration (CCN1, CCP1, etc.).
- Current IPAF / MEWP license.
- Experience with AHU / Gas Heating Plant Control systems and commercial/industrial gas installations.
- Experience managing Permit to Work systems, working at heights, and using access equipment.
- Water Management experience (L8).
- Health & Safety certification.
- Full valid driving license and willingness to travel.
Additional requirements
The successful candidate will require a DBS/Disclosure Check. The role involves flexible working and may include tasks outside contracted hours.
