Your new role
What you’ll do:
- Lead by example in a culture of safety, opportunity, inclusiveness, and diversity
- Ensure Robertson Group safety and quality control standards are upheld
- Ensure compliance record keeping is maintained to a high standard to maintain compliance with statutory requirements, contract service standards and SHTMs
- Liaise with client Representatives regularly ensuring positive constructive relationships based on long term partnership
- Plan, prepare, organise, implement, direct and control work schedules carried out by directly employed labour and subcontractors
- Undertake planned, responsive and cyclical maintenance work either independently, under the supervision of the Contract Manager or as assistant to a maintenance tradesman
- Operate at all times with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM
- Maintain asset histories, maintenance records and helpdesk reports using the CAFM system, informing the Contract Manager or tradesmen of any follow-up action that may be required
- Take part in an On-Call rota providing 24hrs, 365 days cover to the Facilities
- Raise accurate Purchase Orders and ensure all variations are costed and agreed
What you’ll need:
- Knowledge and understanding of NHS “SHTM 00 best practice guidance for health care engineering “ policies and principles
- A strong technical focus with knowledge of Building Regulations
- Experience in electrical power distribution systems/ lighting systems
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, A/C, air handling systems, HVAC control systems, and BMS control systems
- Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
- Good level of computer literacy
- Budget awareness to balance need for quality & profit
- Analytical & problem solving skill
The successful candidate will require a PVG/Disclosure Check.
Who we’re looking for:
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Contract Manager in the delivery of a comprehensive property maintenance service to Balfour Hospital. The post holder will oversee the allocation of work to other tradesmen, whilst they will be expected to lead their particular core skill as a Senior member of the Engineering Team. The post holder will also be expected to undertake any property maintenance work within their range of competence.
