Overview
Your new role is to organise the day to day running of the site and to supervise all trades to ensure a high quality of work. This includes managing employees on site, keeping paperwork up to date, including time sheets, allocation sheets, dayworks etc. You will follow all safety procedures in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Plan and oversee setting out to ensure it is carried out efficiently, accurately and in accordance with the Group’s procedures, through accurate record keeping.
Subcontractor Controls
- Through progress meetings, monitor performance and co‑ordinate on‑site activities.
- Understand subcontract obligations “Theirs” and “Ours”.
- Produce short‑term weekly programmes for their section and subordinates’ section in line with overall contract programme requirements.
Record Keeping
- Ensure accurate daily records (diaries, labour, and material returns) are kept.
- Ensure inspection and test plans are written and understood for all site operations and maintain ongoing checks.
- Ensure that weekly production outputs are recorded and passed onto the Site Agent/Quantity Surveyor.
- Record all changes instructed by the Design Team including change notes, CVI Proforma Sheets.
- Monitor project and individual targets given to subordinates through team meetings.
Financial Controls
- Ensure materials, plant, and equipment are ordered and controlled in line with the project specific prelims and bills of quantities.
- Monitor and report all unbudgeted costs to the Site Agent/Quantity Surveyor.
- Monitor resources, labour, and plant in line with project constraints.
- Develop their commercial acumen.
Health and Safety
- Produce Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all work activities under their control.
- Monitor the requirements of the Group’s Health and Safety procedures and maintain safety records for all work activities under their control.
- Ensure Method Statements comply with Group requirement where asked to check.
- Understand their obligations under the current Health and Safety legislation.
Other Duties
- Correct interpretation of drawing information to enable setting out to be done accurately.
- Be able to take off and order material/plant requirements for their work areas.
- Maintain regular contact with subordinates/Site Manager/Design Team.
- Display a professional and positive manner at all times when dealing with clients and colleagues.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks that may arise from time to time as required.
