Positions immediately available: Logging Engineers for Operational Services. An exciting opportunity has arisen for field engineers to join our borehole logging services team based in Llandudno, N. Wales. Robertson Geo Operational Services provide a professional borehole logging service worldwide, offshore and onshore, in the renewables, geotechnical, mineral exploration and water sectors.
The Role: Joining a team of field logging engineers, based in Llandudno, the role involves deploying a range of electronic probes in boreholes to collect geophysical data. A major part of our work is providing services to the OWF market worldwide, and all engineers must be prepared to work away from home for some extended periods at sometimes very short notice. Successful candidates will receive full training in the technical aspects of the role and in health and safety, including working with radioactive sources. The global environments the team works in range from offshore vessels (mainly for OWF projects) through countryside locations to jungles and building sites, any of which can be physically demanding at times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment and vehicles for mobilisation to the site
- Conduct QC tests on all equipment prior to mobilisation to ensure conformance
- Undertake site inductions and comply with site H&S requirements, including POWRA
- Rig-up/rig-down equipment safely over the borehole
- Run probes as required, adhering to client specifications, and performing continual QC checks on data
- Process geophysical data and produce reports to client specifications
- Actively promote good team working, communication and shared learning
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Good hands-on technical skills and numeracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn software packages
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Team working and communications skills
- Good problem-solving ability
- Familiarity with electronic and mechanical systems and the use of associated tools
- Full UK driving license
- Live/relocate to within a commutable distance of Llandudno
Desired:
- CSCS card holder
- BOSIET certification for offshore working
- Degree in an appropriate discipline
