A well-regarded not-for-profit organisation in Birmingham is seeking a Strategic Finance Business Partner, on a permanent contract, to provide high-level financial support to Directors while managing two Senior Management Accountants. With diverse income and expenditure streams, this organisation faces a level of complexity beyond its size, making this role crucial to improving performance and financial decision-making. This position is entirely focused on adding value—monthly reporting is handled elsewhere, allowing full dedication to strategic finance support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a proactive finance partner to senior leaders, seeking efficiencies and identifying opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Leading and mentoring two Senior Management Accountants to ensure high-quality financial support is provided across the organisation.
  • Providing financial insight, support and challenge to business areas, ensuring Directors have the information they need to make key decisions.
  • Developing deep knowledge of business areas to offer meaningful recommendations for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
  • Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support long-term strategy.

  • Fully qualified accountant (preferred) or significant experience in high-level financial support roles.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience in a Finance Business Partnering function.
  • Ability to evidence achievements in improving financial performance through proactive business partnering – CVs ought to demonstrate facts and figures citing improvements made.
  • Experience working in property; complex organisations with fluctuating margins; or highly regulated environments.
