Job Description
Robertson Bell is partnering exclusively with a forward-thinking organisation to recruit a permanent Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high-performing finance team within a values-driven and purpose-led environment, where innovation and impact go hand in hand.
The Financial Controller will take the lead on statutory reporting and financial control, ensuring robust financial management across the organisation’s operations. This position offers the chance to make a strategic contribution while also managing the delivery of day-to-day financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of group financial statements and the external audit process
- Manage and develop a finance team of 10, including five direct reports
- Oversee the general ledger, financial transactions, and fixed asset accounting
- Ensure an effective financial control framework and manage day-to-day treasury operations
- Lead on VAT, corporation tax, and the wider tax strategy
- Take responsibility for the annual rent-setting process
- Work closely with senior finance leadership and peers to embed best practice throughout the team
This position will report into a driven and highly knowledgeable Assistant Director of Finance and will benefit from flexible working arrangements. The Financial Controller vacancy would best suit someone who has experience working within a highly governed environment 6with knowledge of embedding tight financial controls and a mindset of continuous improvement.
Person Specification:
- Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent)
- Proven track record of financial leadership in a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of financial control frameworks, accounting, and purchasing systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated experience implementing or developing finance systems
