We are working with this internationally renowned not-for-profit organisation in their search for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. Working closely with the Financial Controller, this is a hands-on role with plenty of support and development potential. The role will officially be based out of their offices in South London, but they have extremely flexible working patterns on offer, with only once per week maximum required to be worked from the office!

The key duties of this Financial Accountant will be:

  • Preparing the statutory accounts, including drafting consolidated accounts (training can be provided)
  • Extracting and reconciling trial balance data, and ensuring appropriate backup for statutory notes
  • Supporting revenue recognition and ensuring income is fully and correctly accounted for
  • Playing a key role in the audit process by preparing schedules and liaising with auditors
  • Contributing to actuals reporting and cashflow forecasting
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns and PAYE reconciliations
  • Performing intercompany reconciliations and managing recharges
  • Working with the FP&A team to ensure balance sheet accuracy and completeness
  • Getting involved in an ongoing project to streamline financial systems and processes

You’ll be well supported by a knowledgeable Financial Controller and given space to develop your technical skills, especially around consolidations and statutory accounts. The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced in preparing reconciliations across the full balance sheet
  • Comfortable supporting audits and preparing relevant documentation
  • Familiar with statutory accounts preparation
  • Confident with VAT returns and bank reconciliations
  • Ideally experienced in a group structure or charity environment (desirable)
  • Friendly, flexible, and collaborative in approach
