Interim Finance Officer / Procurement Officer
Location: Havering
Work pattern: Office-based
Rate: Β£22βΒ£24 per hour via umbrella
Duration: 6β12 weeks
Hours: Full-time initially, with potential flexibility towards the end of the assignment
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Finance Officer / Procurement Officer to join a busy finance team on an initial 6β12 week assignment, providing essential cover during a period of leave.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced career contractor or finance administrator who is comfortable working in a hands-on environment, managing a high volume of transactions and picking up new systems quickly.
The Role
Working within the finance function, you will provide procurement administration support, ensuring purchase orders and goods received are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing approximately 20β40 emails per day within the purchasing mailbox.
- Raising Purchase Orders (POs) on iPlicit.
- Ensuring purchase orders are coded correctly and VAT is applied accurately.
- Creating Goods Received Notes (GRNs) on iPlicit when goods are delivered.
- Ensuring GRNs are processed promptly so that supplier payments can be made.
- Providing general administrative support across the procurement and finance function.
- Working closely with colleagues to resolve queries and ensure processes run smoothly.
This is a procurement administration role rather than a strategic procurement position, so there will be no requirement for supplier sourcing, tendering or negotiation.
About You
We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced interim professionals and career contractors who can make an immediate impact.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in finance administration, purchase ledger, procurement administration or a similar role.
- Experience processing purchase orders and/or goods received documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around financial coding and VAT.
- The ability to manage a high volume of work accurately and efficiently.
- Confidence learning and navigating new finance/procurement systems.
- A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The flexibility and adaptability associated with successful interim/contract professionals.
Experience of iPlicit would be advantageous, although the ability to learn new systems quickly is more important.
Working Arrangements
The successful candidate will initially work full-time, allowing sufficient time for a thorough handover and onboarding.
There may be an opportunity for the assignment to become part-time towards the end of the assignment, depending on business requirements.
If you are an experienced Finance Administrator, Procurement Officer or career contractor available at short notice, we would be keen to hear from you.
