Robertson Bell are supporting a major London-based organisation to recruit an Interim Financial Modeller – Capital Projects for a four-to-six month assignment.
Working closely with senior Finance and Property stakeholders, this role will take ownership of the financial modelling for a proposed significant strategic capital project, helping the organisation evaluate several potential transaction and delivery structures.
Key responsibilities include
- Building sophisticated financial models across multiple property/capital scenarios.
- Modelling cash flow, P&L and balance-sheet implications of potential transactions.
- Incorporating different financing, ownership and investment structures, including SPVs and JVs.
- Producing NPV, IRR, payback, sensitivity and scenario analysis.
- Assessing the impact of proposed projects on longer-term financial plans, KPIs and debt covenants.
- Creating clear, intuitive models that allow senior stakeholders to flex key assumptions and understand the resulting financial impact.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced interim to work on a genuinely complex and high-profile capital project.
You will be given considerable autonomy and will work alongside property specialists who can provide the underlying commercial assumptions; your expertise will be in translating these into robust financial analysis.
To be considered, please meet the following criteria
- Demonstrable experience personally building complex financial models within property, development, real estate, infrastructure or another capital-intensive environment.
- Strong understanding of complex transaction structures, ideally including SPVs, JVs and debt-funded investments.
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to build models that are sophisticated technically but straightforward for others to use.
- Strong understanding of investment appraisal, including NPV, IRR and sensitivity analysis.
- The confidence and commercial awareness to operate independently with senior stakeholders.
