£220–£280 per day (Umbrella)

We are currently recruiting for an Interim Service Charge Accountant to join a busy finance team on an urgent interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Charge Accountant who enjoys investigating discrepancies, resolving complex queries and getting to the root cause of financial issues.
The Role
You will play a key role in working through a significant backlog of service charge queries, ensuring accounts are accurate and issues are resolved efficiently.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Investigating and resolving service charge queries and account discrepancies.
- Tracing issues across budgets, supporting documentation and financial systems.
- Identifying errors and understanding the underlying cause of discrepancies.
- Reviewing tenant/service charge accounts and correcting inaccuracies.
- Working collaboratively with finance and housing colleagues to resolve queries.
- Escalating more complex issues where appropriate and supporting wider finance projects.
- Helping to improve the accuracy and efficiency of service charge processes.
About You
We are looking for someone with at least 2 years' experience working within a service charge environment.
You'll ideally be:
- Inquisitive and naturally curious when investigating financial discrepancies.
- A confident problem-solver who enjoys finding the answer rather than simply processing transactions.
- Resilient and comfortable working through a high-volume backlog.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Able to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Comfortable working with financial systems and large volumes of account information.
Experience of Civica CX would be a strong advantage, although this is not essential.
