Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on solving complex people challenges and building strong relationships with managers? We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded HR Adviser to join a growing team. This is a fast-paced, advisory-focused role where no two days are the same.
Location: Office based 1 day per week - Wirral, 4 days home
Salary: Up to £40k
Benefits: 25 days holiday, pension, health cashback plan, life assurance
Hours: Monday to Saturday (1 Saturday per month)
Working for a leading business who have been established for over 20 years and have a fantastic reputation in their industry. They pride themselves on their culture, internal training and development, and the opportunity to support well-known clients with their HR issues (employee relations focus).
You’ll act as a trusted partner to managers, providing clear, practical HR advice across a wide range of employee relations matters. From handling sensitive cases to coaching managers through difficult conversations, you’ll play a key role in driving positive outcomes while protecting both people and business performance.
- Providing expert HR advice via phone and digital channels across a broad range of ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances and dismissals
- Managing complex and sensitive cases from start to finish, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Coaching and supporting managers to build confidence in handling people matters
- Escalating high-risk or complex issues where appropriate
- Ensuring advice aligns with agreed processes, policies and service standards
- Maintaining accurate case records using internal systems
- Supporting and mentoring more junior team members when needed
- Occasionally attending on-site meetings or supporting client facing initiatives
- Contributing to wider HR or transformation projects
What skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in an HR Advisory role, with strong exposure to employee relations
- Solid understanding of UK employment law and its practical application
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) preferred
- Confident communicator, able to influence and build relationships at all levels
- Commercial, pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases
- A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting and developing others
