The Company: Roberts & Prowse based in Swindon are a Steelwork Fabrication and Specialist Welding Contractor who operate throughout the Home Counties, South West & South East of the UK. Due to sustained success and growth are recruiting for a Welder Fabricator to join our busy team.
The Role: As a Welder Fabricator you will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager and will be given the responsibility for undertaking Welding & fabrication projects at our Swindon Factory.
Duties will include:
- Operate power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, weld and fabricate metal components
- Perform MIG, MAG, TIG & MMA welding techniques to join metal parts
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Assemble structural steelwork and fabricated metal parts using mechanical knowledge
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet project specifications
- Carrying out all works to a high standard whilst complying with all relevant health and safety standards

The Person:
To be considered for this role, you must be fully qualified and have proven, previous experience with a minimum of 2 years experience as a Welding & Fabrication Engineer including:
- Proficient in MIG, MAG, TIG & MMA welding techniques and processes
- The ability to operate power tools and hand tools effectively and safely
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations
- Experience in fabricating metal components
- Mechanical knowledge for assembling metal parts
- Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- A full driving license
Essentially you will be a Time Served Welding & Fabrication Engineer having worked in Engineering & Fabrication Industries. Work accurately and effectively with minimal supervision, Works well under pressure.
