The Company: Roberts & Prowse based in Elgin Ind Estate, Swindon, Wiltshire are a Mechanical and Electrical Services Contractor who operate throughout the Home Counties, South West & South East of the UK. Due to sustained success and growth are recruiting for an Electrical Estimator to join our busy team.
The Role
As an Electrical Estimator you will report directly to the General Manager and will be given the responsibility for procuring Electrical quotations for the business. You will also be working closely with Mechanical Estimators to submit Mechanical & Electrical quotations. Projects are located in and around the Home Counties, South East & South West.
Duties
- Review, preparation and submission of Electrical tenders, ensuring that all return date deadlines are met.
- Request extensions to return dates and create RFI’s as required to fulfill project requirements
- Liaison with Tier 1, Tier 2 clients and consultants with regard to obtaining and providing value engineered proposals.
- Ability to measure elements of works and create itemised Bills of Quantities as necessary
- Finalisation of all tender bids, attend pre-order meetings, secure contracts and hand over package to M&E Contracts Managers.
- Liaison with Tier 1, Tier 2 clients with regards to Mechanical project variations and ensuring that all variations are recorded and instructed where deemed necessary.
- Maintaining proper records using Estimating software and Microsoft Office suite of software tools
- Attend KPI (Key Performance Indicator) meetings with senior management team

The Person
To be considered for this role, you must be fully qualified and have proven, previous experience as an Electrical Estimator ideally with a similar sized or larger organisation where you have been instrumental in securing value engineered accurately priced projects:
- ONC / HNC or equivalent electrical related qualification
- Ability to read mechanical & electrical drawings and project specifications
- A full driving license
- CSCS Academically Qualified an advantage
- DBS an advantage
- TRIMBLE – Luckins Live Estimating Software knowledge an advantage
- Eque2 – Estimating Software knowledge an advantage
Ideally you will be a Time Served Electrician, progressed as an Estimator having worked in Commercial Building Services, Construction or Mechanical Engineering. Work accurately and effectively with minimal supervision, Works well under pressure.
