The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the effective collection, storage, and preparation of goods for production, supporting smooth operational flow and minimising downtime. The role is responsible for ensuring that materials are available in the right place, at the right time, and in the correct condition to meet production requirements.
This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient material flow between warehouse and production, while ensuring high standards of safety, organisation, and housekeeping are upheld at all times.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Check the production plan against system requirements to ensure the correct stock is available in the right place at the right time.
- Monitor production activity to ensure all machinery is adequately supplied with materials, preventing downtime.
- Liaise with the Team Leader to highlight any potential issues, delays, or risks to production continuity.
- Collect, store, and prepare goods for production in line with operational requirements.
- Remove all worked and finished goods from production areas promptly and safely to the warehouse.
- Support the loading of trailers as required.
- Maintain effective bin and waste management, ensuring bins do not overflow and empty bins are always available in production and warehouse areas.
- Remove excess pallets, including non-UK pallets, ensuring safe and organised storage.
- Follow site-specific rules such as the “left is long” rule at all times.
- Support stock put-away activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure bales are removed from the shed as required to maintain safe working conditions.
- Support de-boarding of OPP pallets where required.
- Assist with wrapping and strapping finished goods ready for despatch.
- Assist with securing raw materials and work-in-progress returned from production.
- Comply with all Roberts Mart Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure correct and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Complete all required pre-start and equipment checks.
- Report and record near misses and incidents in line with company procedures.
- Follow all warehouse and site safety rules at all times.
- Ensure all fire exits, walkways, and access routes are kept clear.
- Ensure all palletised stock is securely chocked, strapped, or banded as required.
- Maintain security by not sharing login details and reporting all FLT incidents.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings as required.
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues and supervisors to support smooth day-to-day operations.

Requirements:- Valid forklift licences: Reach Lift Truck – Essential with a minimum solid 2 years experience.
- Counterbalance Lift Truck - Advantageous.
- Powered Pallet Truck (PPT) – Advantageous.
- VNA – Advantageous.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade C or above).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be proactive and forward-thinking.
