KEY JOB PURPOSE

Undertake all functions provided by the Auto Centres.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To carry out work as and when required on a customer’s vehicle.
  • To undertake all functions provided by the Auto Centres.
  • Receive and unload any goods delivered to the Auto Centres making sure the delivery area is made safe.
  • Keep the workshop and machinery clean and tidy and free from hazards.
  • Deliver and collect vehicle parts when necessary.
  • Ensure good customer relations when dealing with customers, acting in a courteous, friendly and helpful manner.
  • Regularly check operation of equipment, advising management immediately of malfunctions.
  • Ensure compliance of oneself, staff and customers with health & safety policy, company policies and other relevant regulations.
  • Ensure all safety protection is worn and used at all times.
  • Advise customers on products, seeking technical advice from the Manager / Supervisor as required.
  • Attend any training courses organised by the company in relation to the role.
  • Learn and understand product details and their application.
  • To take utmost care when driving or working on a customer’s vehicle.
  • To promote the Auto Centre business including any special offers and promotional events.

WORK CONTEXT

The post is based at Robert’s Garage, Springfield / Roberts West – Auto Centres. Shifts are to be determined by the Manager but can be any hours within the Site Operating Time, at 44 hours per week. Uniform will be supplied but must be kept in good condition by the employee, and must be worn at all times when on duty, including safety footwear.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES/NOTES

The employee may be asked at the discretion of the employer to carry out tasks, which may not normally be covered under the Job Description, but would not be of a nature that would be unreasonable to ask of the employee. Although the position is based at the above named site, you may be required to work at or transfer to another branch at any given time during your employment, with shifts being adjusted accordingly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.50-£16.17 per hour
