The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Specifications Technologist at our Bakeries in Northwich and Winsford Cheshire.
Job Purpose
To write product specifications (covering all retailers), ensuring product and process quality standards meet expectations (gold standard), legislative requirements and established industry standards. To ensure that all manufacturing specifications are updated in line with each new product launch / re development, whilst also assuming a wider range of departmental duties.
What You Will Contribute
- Manage customer specifications via multiple online portals, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Support and develop specification technologist team.
- Support NPD and procurement teams with interpretation of food regulations, customer policies and codes of practice.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality control, and production, to gather necessary information and resolve specification-related issues.
- Check product artwork and sign off packaging to ensure compliance with UK and EU regulations and customer requirements.
- Assist in external and third-party audits, presenting information as required.
- Encourage and drive the site's food safety culture to prevent deviations affecting product safety, quality, and legality.

- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of the food manufacturing industry.
Working Hours
Monday - Friday, flexible between 7am - 6pm, 37.5 hours per week.
