The Opportunity: FSQ Ingredients and Product Manager - Acting as the first point of contact for both suppliers and customers regarding technical queries and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the flow of all raw materials and finished products, ensuring they meet rigorous quality and safety standards.
- Conduct and update risk assessments covering allergens, microbiological, chemical, physical and vulnerability aspects to safeguard all raw materials and finished products.
- Onboard new suppliers by reviewing manufacturing controls and ensuring all necessary documents are accessible and up to date.
- Lead the HACCP and Food Defence teams, maintaining robust systems and driving improvements in safety processes.
- Collaborate with New Product Development (NPD) to review and approve new ingredients and specifications for launches.
- Oversee Food Safety, Quality, Legality and Hygiene across all Bread production plants, managing a team of FSQ Specialists across four shifts.
- Supervise customer complaint investigations, reporting, and trending.
- Oversee internal audits, including system, GMP, and GWP audits, providing support as necessary.
- Coordinate sampling schemes and laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and calibration.
Essential Experience
- Supplier auditing
- Experience in the food industry with previous leadership or supervisory responsibilities in an FSQ setting
- Specification writing experience
- Extensive knowledge of HACCP
- Risk assessment and management
- Working knowledge of BRC and major retailer standards
- Experience leading third‑party audits to build on the current compliance platform
