The Opportunity: We have vacancies for Quality Assurance Manager at our Northwich site.
Job Purpose:
As a key member of the site food safety and quality team: -
- To assure the quality and food safety of all products being manufactured at Isle of Bute
- To be ambassador of the food safety and quality management systems, KPI’s and reporting systems
- To support the production of safe, legal and authentic products to the specified brand quality.
- To develop and coach the QA Team and other departments in Food Safety and Quality, creating a culture of food safety and integrity.
- To review and analyse trends in key areas such as microbiology, complaints, and ensure suitable cascade of information and improvement opportunities are identified and implemented.
- To support the creation and maintenance of HACCP and associated systems.
- Manage and support Pest Control contract, engaging with contractor and communicating across departments of key areas of concern.
- To lead / support customer visits and audits
- To support operations and engineering teams in area of food safety and quality, ensuring compliance to standards, and support knowledge growth across the business
- The jobholder will mainly receive direction and guidance from the Technical Manager and members of Technical departments within the group and also sometimes complete tasks for the NPD function.
- Work with NPD on new product launches, supporting gate processes to launch, reviewing of specifications, raw material approvals.
- Lead the HACCP, TACCP and VACCP teams collaboratively with the Head of Technical
- Support in the site movement into Retailer standards, reviewing requirements and gaps in site systems (Gap Analysis), offering support and guidance to teams.

What you will bring:
- BSc In Food Science or related discipline
- 3 years proven experience in Quality Management role within FMCG
- HACCP level 3, 4 Advantageous
- TACCP and VACCP training
- Internal Audit / 3 rd Part audit qualified
- Undertaking and passing all training required to operate in the role which could include but are not exhaustive: Food Hygiene, Allergen, HACCP, and Pest Awareness, weight legislation.
- Assist/train new team members to perform tasks effectively
- BRC experience and implmentation and Retailer standards awareness, M&S, Morrisons,
- Level 3 (Advanced) Certificate in Food Safety is desired.
- Experience of or familiar with, quality assurance systems and processes (Desired)
- Good knowledge of food manufacturing.
- Computer literate in Excel & Word.
