The Company

Roberts & Prowse, based in Elgin Industrial Estate, Swindon, Wiltshire, is a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Building Services Contractor operating throughout the Home Counties, South West, and South East of the UK. Due to sustained growth and continued success, we are seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Operative (Building, Plumbing, Carpentry) to join our dynamic team within MOD and building division.

The Role

As a Multiskilled Maintenance Operative, you will report directly to the Building Contracts Managers Your primary responsibility will be to carry out a wide range of maintenance, repairs, and general building works within commercial environments initially across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire & Gloucestershire.

Duties will include:

General site maintenance, routine maintenance, cosmetic upkeep and preventative maintenance & project works.

Carrying out minor structural repairs patch plastering, painting and decorating

Basic carpentry experience including installing stud walls, doors & frames, architraves, skirtings, locks, kitchen units etc.

Basic plumbing, including installing & maintaining sanitary ware.

Identifying and reporting any faults or maintenance issues

Ensuring all work are completed to a high standard while adhering to health and safety regulations

The Person:

To be considered for this role, you should be an experienced multiskilled craftsman with a proven track record in maintenance and repair work within commercial environments.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 Years Of Experience In a Similar Role

Proficiency in general building maintenance repairs & projects.

Basic carpentry and joinery skills 1st and 2nd fix, and finals

Basic plumbing experience

Knowledge of painting, decorating and finishing works

Ability to work independently and effectively under minimal supervision

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Full UK Driving License

CSCS Card Holder (advantageous)

DBS Clearance (advantageous)

Your previous positions may include: Maintenance Engineer, Handyman, Facilities Maintenance Engineer, General Builder, Property Maintenance Technician, Site Maintenance Engineer, or Multiskilled Engineer.
