This is an ideal role for someone who loves to be part of a warm family home. This family of four (two girls age 7 and 12) are looking for a loyal and dedicated Housekeeper / Cook. Based in a quiet residential street in Holland Park, accommodation includes your own spacious bedroom and bathroom on your own separate floor of their house. The family are often away at the weekends meaning you will have a chance to properly relax and feel at home. We are looking for someone who takes pride in looking after a home to a very high standard. This family are super organised and efficient which makes things a lot easier! The house is based over four floors and comprises six bedrooms and four bathrooms with large living areas. Whilst the house needs to be kept to a very high standard, the family are very down to earth and would like their Housekeeper to feel like part of the family. There is also a full-time nanny who has been with the family for 10 years so they will be able to offer a lot of support and guidance.

Main elements of the role will include:

  • General Housekeeping to a high standard including the following:
  • Regular cleaning duties - hoover, dust, polish silver & furniture, cleaning windows, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms & kitchens (including ovens and fridges)
  • Laundry, handwashing, steaming & ironing & overseeing dry cleaning
  • Wardrobe Management – ie. simple hand sewing / mending, shoe polishing etc.
  • Changing beds
  • Watering the garden & care for indoor plants & simple flower arranging
  • Smaller house maintenance tasks - changing lightbulbs, descaling kettle and iron, winding clocks etc.
  • Local shopping errands to grocery store, chemist or shoe repair if needed
  • Organising returns – taking items to post office and parcel drops where necessary
  • Replenishing stocks of cleaning and bathroom products
  • Cooking & Menu Planning -
    • Weekly menu planning for the family
    • Placing weekly Ocado and Waitrose orders (& Amazon or other online ordering when needed)
    • Preparing simple weekday family dinners and some weekend meals ahead of time
    • Cooking for the freezer where necessary
