A leading manufacturer is seeking a Site Buyer with management experience to join their procurement team, offering you the opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving cost reduction, supplier selection, and contract implementation.
You will influence sourcing strategies, benchmark site spend, manage a team, and deliver targeted savings while supporting global business objectives.
Please note this is a fully on-site role, occasional travel within the UK and abroad may be required.
What You'll
Do:
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement within the business unit.
Your day-to-day activities will involve:
Providing an efficient and cost-effective procurement service for the business.
Acting as the local representative of the group purchasing team, supporting and implementing sourcing categories.
Managing two purchasing co-ordinators.
Liaising with suppliers throughout the procurement process and monitoring performance.
Identifying new suppliers, agree terms, negotiate supply agreements.
Evaluating contractors thoroughly and manage documentation requirements to ensure compliance with operational standards.
Undertaking supplier visits, reporting findings to the business and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Your background should include:
Substantial experience in procurement or purchasing roles within a manufacturing or similar engineering environment where you have managed teams collaboratively.
Strong negotiation skills that enable you to secure advantageous terms with suppliers while maintaining positive relationships.
Work dependably under pressure across multiple projects.
Exhibit stakeholder management skills alongside change management capabilities.
Ideally, you will be partly or fully CIPS qualified.
