The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing business on a 3-6 month fixed-term contract. This hybrid role will play a key part in supporting the finance function, with primary responsibility for payroll management as well as assisting with management accounts and financial reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can quickly add value to an established team.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
- Consolidate and review payroll hours information submitted by the Payroll Administrator.
- Act as the main point of contact for the external payroll bureau.
- Ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted within required deadlines.
- Investigate and resolve payroll and wage-related queries from employees and management.
- Support payroll reconciliation activities and maintain accurate payroll records.
- Ensure compliance with payroll processes and relevant legislation.
Finance & Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Support the production of management reporting and financial analysis.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end finance processes.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
About You
- Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Previous experience managing or overseeing payroll processes.
- Strong understanding of management accounts and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Confident liaising with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with finance systems.
- Able to work independently and manage priorities within a contract environment.
