A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Officer to join an in-house legal team, providing key support with the review and management of customer contracts. This role is ideal for someone with prior paralegal experience who is confident working with commercial agreements and keen to develop further within a fast-paced legal environment.
Location: You must be based in England (This role is fully remote)
Contract: 3-month temporary contract
Hourly Rate: £18.00 - £25 per hour based on experience
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyse a high volume of customer contracts, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
- Identify key legal and commercial risks within agreements and escalate where appropriate.
- Support the negotiation process by suggesting amendments and assisting with drafting standard contractual clauses.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (including sales, procurement, and finance teams) to clarify contract requirements and resolve queries.
- Track contract status and maintain accurate records using contract management systems.
- Assist in the preparation, formatting, and execution of agreements.
- Ensure all contracts are properly stored and compliant with internal governance procedures.
- Support wider legal team tasks as required, including general commercial and administrative work.
- Previous experience as a Contracts Officer or assistant (ideally with exposure to commercial contracts).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review legal documents accurately and efficiently.
- Good understanding of basic contractual terms and commercial risk.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work with non-legal stakeholders.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
